STATEMENT OF THE OFFICE AND PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION (OPEIU), AFL-CIO, ON UNFAIR LABOR PRACTICE CHARGE AGAINST ZP BETTER TOGETHER

The Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU), AFL-CIO, representing approximately 90,000 workers across the United States and Canada, filed an unfair labor practice (ULP) charge Friday against ZP Better Together for their unlawful layoff of 50 workers in February just as workers were meeting with a union and had been organizing against an onerous arbitration agreement. We urge ZP Better Together to rehire those laid-off workers without delay and provide back pay to ensure their intimidatory action doesn't continue to have a chilling effect on labor organizing.

The Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU), AFL-CIO, announces its full support and endorsement of Kamala Harris for president.

The upcoming election is one of tremendous consequence, one that will determine the future of democracy and rule of law in the United States, as well as the futures of all working Americans. The Trump/Vance Project 2025 agenda threatens to undermine and roll back workers’ rights at every level of government. We believe Kamala Harris is best positioned to help defeat that anti-worker agenda and help pro-worker candidates win elections up and down ballot.

As she showed while serving as vice president in the most pro-union administration in modern history, Kamala Harris is a dedicated fighter for reproductive rights, has a strong record on climate change and a history of pro-worker votes in the Senate.
