STATEMENT OF THE OFFICE AND PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION IN SUPPORT OF KAMALA HARRIS FOR PRESIDENT
The Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU), AFL-CIO, announces its full support and endorsement of Kamala Harris for president.
The upcoming election is one of tremendous consequence, one that will determine the future of democracy and rule of law in the United States, as well as the futures of all working Americans. The Trump/Vance Project 2025 agenda threatens to undermine and roll back workers’ rights at every level of government. We believe Kamala Harris is best positioned to help defeat that anti-worker agenda and help pro-worker candidates win elections up and down ballot.
As she showed while serving as vice president in the most pro-union administration in modern history, Kamala Harris is a dedicated fighter for reproductive rights, has a strong record on climate change and a history of pro-worker votes in the Senate. Given her pro-labor credentials, deep experience and demonstrated competence, OPEIU is proud to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for president.

Celebrating Liberation
Juneteenth is observed each year on June 19 to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States.
On June 19, 1865, the Union Army announced to enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, that they were free — more than two years after President Lincoln delivered his Emancipation Proclamation. Observed as a federal holiday since 2021, Juneteenth commemorates, celebrates and honors Black culture and history.
Today, we’re also reminded of how far we still must go to fulfill the promise of liberty and justice for all.
